The Association serves as an official liaison between AP Member Stations and the Mid-Atlantic Bureau and its staff in Delaware, Maryland and Washington, DC. The CAPBA Board, comprised of radio and television professionals from the region, meets quarterly to discuss issues of significance to the AP and its members. The board is also responsible for the planning of our annual convention in Ocean City, and other educational and industry-related events.

The crabs are always a big hit at the annual CAPBA Convention in Ocean City.

The deadline to apply for the 2012 Chesapeake News Association Scholarship is May 1st.  Visit the 2012 Scholarship section for more information on how to apply for the $2,500 scholarship.

History was made at the 2011 CAPBA Convention.  On June 4th, CAPBA President (2010-2011) Sue Kopen Katcef and CAPBA Secretary / Treasurer Tim Tunison signed documents formally creating the Chesapeake News Association.  The Chesapeake News Association, an non-profit arm of the Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association, will manage our journalism scholarship program.
